Oh - The Rains.

Nobody in Portugal has any right to moan, but... :D

This is unworkable for me. I am extremely grateful to be very busy with orders. Absolutely nothing I can do about the weather, so I have bolted down in Nazare until the forecast looks a little brighter. Working on small sketches from postcards, and doing a bit of painting :)

I really hope people don't mind, but we're just going to have to wait for the much needed rains to pass. I'll be back in Lisbon before Sunday.

This is Nazare looking very sombre. I like it. Peaceful, content, possibly even melancholic - a hide away from Atlantic storms.

Hi John. its been almost ten years since i met you. how did that happen? its inspiring to see you still on the road and awesome that youve been writing a blog since then! I only found it yesterday when i found the tiles you painted in granada.
I went back the next year to see you and joe but you had both moved on.
the bar owner at the caves told me about joe :(
was fun drinking that green milk and rum though.

Hey Danny!

How many years? Wept!

Hope all is good with you. I am now settled in Portugal. Will still travel, but Lisbon and Nazare are my new base. If you ever fancy motorcycling your way along the Atlantic coast, a bed and a meal is always waiting.

Sad about Joe (and many others who live that way). He just wasn't looking after himself. We both caught a vicious virus. I got off relatively lightly, but Joe fell into a coma never to return. Pob (who made the green milk) sadly passed away not long after - he used to find his own trouble regularly. This time he found too much trouble and was found dead. It is a precarious road at times. However, I remain fighting fit, as do many others.

Really good to read from you. Hope we meet again some day.

Green milk and rum :D

All the best,

John.

Great to read from you too john, Ive still got the same old bike and it's never been to Portugal as far as i know, maybe if you're still there at the end of summer we could have a catch-up. Ive been itching to do another trip ever since and i like Spain.
Its great you've been documenting some of your travels, i feel like i've just lost a decade instead.
Granada wasn't the same when i last went. I went up to the caves and nobody was about, just dogs. Joe's dog Emma was there too, that was sad.
I think i remember Pob, gravely voice?
that was a nice summer.
Its good to see you're still fighting the good fight.
